An autumn afternoon in Ravello

We ambled the afternoon away in the piazza, streets and gardens of Ravello. Villa Cimbrone has a spectacular setting with 360 degree views of the Amalfi Coast. I love trees and have fallen hard for the form of the umbrella pines and sweet chestnuts.

Music forms in important part of cultural life in Ravello and we are going to try get into the piano concerto tomorrow night which is part of the summer festival of classical music in the garden of Villa Rufolo.

Our Hotel Giordana room has a view across the hills to Scala and we can hear the kids playing on the Piazza Duomo. The floor is tiled with high gloss patterned tiles with the typical local colours - blue, green, white and red, rather like them.

Off for pizzas, can I claim carbo loading?
